Toast
Also called: snackbar, notification, flash message.
A small message that pops up for a few seconds to confirm something happened, then disappears on its own. It doesn't block anything.
Tap a few times: toasts stack, then leave on their own after 3 seconds.

Say it in a prompt
Show a toast at the bottom center that slides up and fades in, stays for 3 seconds, then fades out. Several toasts stack upward. Seen on
- Gmail: After you send an email, a small "Message sent" note appears in the bottom corner and then goes away.
- Vercel Geist design system: Short toasts like "Domain added" disappear on their own; an Undo toast stays on screen for 5 to 10 seconds.
You might describe it as
- small message in the corner saying it worked, with an undo button
- little message in the corner that says saved
- notification that disappears after a few seconds
- small black strip at the bottom after sending
Not to be confused with
- Modal
A toast informs and leaves on its own; a modal stops you until you answer or close it.
- Success state
A toast is a small note in a corner that goes away by itself; a success state takes over the place where the form was.
