Context menu

Also called: right-click menu, contextual menu, shortcut menu.

Say it in a prompt

Add a custom context menu on the logo: on right-click (and long press on touch), open a 190px menu at the pointer with "Copy logo as SVG", "Copy wordmark", a divider and "Download brand kit". Keep it inside the window, and close it on Esc, on a click elsewhere or after choosing an item.

Seen on

  • Vercel: The logo in the header has a menu with "Copy Logo", "Copy Wordmark" and "Download Brand Assets".
  • Linear: Right-clicking selected issues opens a contextual menu with the actions you can take on them.

You might describe it as

  • menu that shows up when I right click
  • options popping up where my mouse is
  • custom right click list on the page

Not to be confused with

  • Dropdown menu

A context menu opens where you right-click, with actions for that one thing; a dropdown menu opens under a button you can see.
