Pressed state
Also called: active state, pressed, :active.
How a button looks while you are pushing it down. A good one feels like a real key being pressed.
Normal
Say it in a prompt
In the pressed state, move the button down 4px and remove its bottom shadow, so it looks pushed in like a physical key. Seen on
- Duolingo: When you press the button, it moves down 4px and its dark strip disappears, like a key being pushed in.
You might describe it as
- button sinks down when I press it
- button goes in when clicked
- push down effect on click
Not to be confused with
- Chunky 3D button
The pressed state is how any button looks while you push it; a chunky 3D button is a raised look that it has all the time.
